Our story
Sule Lamido University Kafin Hausa was established in 2013 by the Jigawa State Government and licensed by the National Universities Commission. Academic activities commenced thereafter with a mandate to expand access to higher education for the people of Jigawa State and beyond.
The Faculty of Education was among the first three faculties created with the University in July 2013. Headed by Dr. Ali Abdullahi Taura, an Associate Professor in Educational Psychology, the Faculty aspires to be teaching- and research-intensive and technologically driven — in line with the University’s vision.
Today the Faculty comprises three academic departments and twelve undergraduate programmes, with postgraduate offerings in Curriculum Studies, Educational Psychology, and the Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE). All undergraduate programmes hold Full Accreditation Status from the National Universities Commission.
