Problem: No open West African repository for 5G radio science research.
Solution: Built www.slurepo.com.ng — first of its kind in West Africa.
Impact: Supports ongoing 5G and beyond wireless communications research.
Automated Fish Pond Monitoring System
Problem: Fish farming efficiency depends on reliable water quality monitoring.
Solution: IoT sensor network with Arduino, Firebase, and Android application.
Impact: Demonstrated workable aquaculture monitoring prototype for local fisheries.
DDoS Attack Detection for Software Defined IoT
Problem: Software-defined IoT networks face escalating distributed denial-of-service threats.
Solution: Research into DDoS attack detection frameworks for SD-IoT environments.

Looking ahead
A landmark year — and a platform for the future
2024 marked FCIT's transition into postgraduate education, stronger student recognition programmes, and sustained research output — 18 publications, ₦60M+ in funding, and continued leadership in open radio science data for West Africa.
FCIT will continue expanding accredited programmes, industry certifications, and research collaborations that prepare graduates for Nigeria's digital economy.
