Our story
History
The Department of Soil and Land Management was established in 2021 in response to the urgent global call for sustainable land use and soil health solutions. As the world faces increasing challenges in food security, climate change, and environmental degradation, the department is committed to training a new generation of professionals equipped to lead in sustainable agriculture and land resource management. Since its inception, the department has enrolled over 250 students. By 2025, it welcomed 105 new first-year students, reflecting growing interest in soil science, sustainable land use, and environmental conservation.

Sustainable soil and land management is vital for food security, environmental protection, and economic development. The department promotes a holistic approach that combines scientific knowledge, traditional practices, and community engagement to ensure healthy natural resources for future generations.
