Our story
Sule Lamido University Kafin Hausa, formerly Jigawa State University, was established in 2013 by the Jigawa State Government and licensed by the Federal Government through the National Universities Commission as the 39th State University and 129th in the Nigerian University System.
The Faculty of Agriculture and Natural Resources Management was introduced in 2022. It is committed to the best tradition of excellence and aspires to be a teaching- and research-intensive, technology-driven faculty in line with the University’s vision.
Vision
To be a centre for training and research, capable of ensuring food security through the development of the State’s agricultural base from its subsistence level to an industrialised agricultural system — by imparting technology-based knowledge, skills, and new ideas and practices proficient in developing the agricultural potentials of the State and the nation at large.
Mission
To promote sustainable agricultural and natural resources development and management in the State through teaching, research, and extension services to communal farming communities.
Organisation
The Dean reports to the Vice-Chancellor through University Management and Senate. Standing committees and coordinating units support academic quality, farms, and outreach.
