Brief bio
I am a Professor of IT & Telecoms at Sule Lamido University, Kafin Hausa. I earned a First-Class B.Sc. in Physics from KUST Wudil (2007), an M.Sc. with Distinction in Mobile & High-Speed Telecommunication Networks from Oxford Brookes University, UK (2010), a Ph.D. in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from UNILORIN (2015), and completed postdoctoral research at Aalto University, Finland (2015–2016).
I have received awards including UNILORIN Researcher of the Year (2018), the IEEE Outstanding Leadership Award, and the Jigawa State Governor's Award for Academic Excellence. Between 2011 and 2025, I secured 46 competitive grants worth over ₦900m. With over 200 publications, an h-index of 32, and 4,500+ citations, I am listed among the world's top 2% scientists. My research focuses on wireless communications, radio propagation, telemedicine, spectrum management, and rural telephony. I am a COREN-registered engineer and Chair of IEEE ComSoc Nigeria.
